Innovation Campus, LLC (UWM Real Estate Foundation sole member) signed an offer to purchase an 88 acre parcel on the northeast quadrant of the Wauwatosa County Grounds on July 1, 2009 with the goal of developing a graduate-level engineering campus. Its close proximity to the Medical College and the Milwaukee County Research Park helps to foster innovative research and collaboration. The Innovation Accelerator Building (ICAB), the anchor building of the Campus, was the first building on the Campus to open its doors and was awarded LEED© Silver certification in June 2015.

Cambridge Commons, the UWM Real Estate Foundation’s second residence hall, was awarded LEED© Gold certification in January 2011. Cambridge Commons is located on the corner of Cambridge Avenue and North Avenue.  The residence hall is a 700 bed facility (including approximately 200 sophomore beds) with administrative and classroom space, a fully-stocked convenience store, as well as the UWM Foundation and UWM Research Foundation offices.  Cambridge Commons opened to students in August 2010.
